Gleneagles Hotel
Welcome to Gleneagles Hotel and five red star Golf Resort. Set in 850 acres of stunning scenery in Perthshire, Scotland. Designed in the style of a French chateau and the landscaping inspired by Capability Brown, the famous 18th century landscaper.
At the doorstep of the Highlands, Gleneagles is located only an hours drive from Edinburgh or Glasgow. We are very happy to book a transfer to Gleneagles for you. Please click on our separate programme for St Andrews, home of golf, which is an hour drive from here.
Gleneagles is, of course, Golf. But there are so many other activities to enjoy shooting, falconry, off road driving and horse riding. For beginners and the less experienced there is expert help and tuition.
There is so much to do here – we are sure that you will want several nights to really appreciate Gleneagles. You really can do as little or as much as you wish. Whether you are looking for an inclusive Special Interest Break or tailor making a package just for you – Voyager Travel would like to help.
Golfing
Gleneagles has three championship golf courses. The King’s and Queen’s golf courses opened in 1919. Both were designed by James Braid, five times British Open Winner. James Braid, a renowned Scottish golf course designer shaped them around the natural features and hazards of the surrounding countryside. In 1993 Jack Nicklaus created the third championship golf course, the PGA Centenary Course. The PGA Centenary course being the venue of the 2014 Ryder Cup.
Gleneagles is a golfers dream come true with guaranteed tee times and glorious views you really will enjoy the ultimate golfing challenge.
There is also the superb Golf Academy should you like a lesson with a professional. You may like your swing videoed to receive helpful advice or perhaps tutoring to prepare you for hazards on the course ahead. If you have forgotten to pack your kit you can hire everything you may need here.
Children at Gleneagles Children are as much a part of Gleneagles as their parents. Attention to every detail has been a strong consideration here. There are many activities for children to enjoy, such as miniature off road driving, horse riding and even falconry. Children as young as three can follow in their parents footsteps and learn golf at Gleneagles with expert tuition and scaled down clubs for children.
The hotel has really thought of everything for families – where else could you be enjoying a round of golf on one of the worlds most renowned golf course, or perhaps enjoying a hot stone therapy massage, whilst your children are zipping around in a miniature land rover?
Carefully planned children’s meals and a playroom with trained childminders go without saying. We are sure the older children may enjoy the PS2 room after an afternoon of clay shooting or falconry.
The Club & The Spa
For the serious swimmers there is the lap pool to enjoy. For those wishing to relax there is an indoor pleasure pool or why not visit the year round hot pool outside or the tented Jacuzzi? There is of course a gym, squash and tennis courts and mountain biking to name a few activities.
The Spa features a wide range of treatments available including ESPA facials and body treatments and aromatherapy body wraps and facials.
Eating and Drinking As you would expect there are many choices to cater for different tastes and moods from formal to relaxed. Gleneagles boasts the only two Michelin star restaurant in Scotland – Andrew Fairlie - French cuisine with a Scottish twist. The Strathearn Restaurant – fine dining in great style with classic menus. Should you prefer there is the Club Restaurant, The Dormy Clubhouse Restaurant and Bar and The Bar., Room service is available 24 hours a day or picnic hampers can be packed for tea in the grounds.
